WILLIAM E. FOWLER began a career in the early 1970s in journalism and publishing focussing on current affairs, defence technology and military history. In the early 1980s, Fowler was a researcher at the Royal United Services Institute, and in Whitehall closely involved in the analysis and coverage of Operation Corporate in the Falklands campaign. He is the author of over 30 books covering military equipment and conflicts.
