The History Press is the UK’s largest specialist history publisher. We publish around 200 new titles a year on a wide range of subjects including local, military and transport history, general history and heritage.
We are looking for a full-time marketing executive to implement publicity campaigns for all new local history titles, working in our offices situated in Brimscombe, near Stroud.
This role provides direct support to the Commissioning Editor for local history in the ongoing development of the local history range (for UK and Irish titles), marketing the range to existing and prospective media and retail customers to ensure that the department is able to meet its targets.
The ideal candidate will have experience in copywriting, social media marketing and project management.
Core attributes include good written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, an ability to work across a multitude of projects and creativity.
The salary for this role will be in the region of £18,000 depending upon experience.

We are looking for a full-time project editor to manage the production of titles across all our national publishing lists. The project editor will be part of the editorial team, and will work closely with other in-house departments and freelancers.
The ideal candidate will be a flexible team player with at least one year’s experience in book publishing. They will have excellent editing, proofreading and copywriting skills, and proven experience in project management. A keen eye for detail and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is essential. Experience of Adobe Creative Suite or similar would be advantageous.
This role is based in our office in Stroud.
The salary will be in the region of £18,000 depending upon experience.

We are looking for a full-time Assistant Financial Accountant to work in our busy finance department based at Brimscombe Port, Stroud.
The ideal candidate will be a finance post graduate or a candidate with a minimum two years’ working experience in an accounts department. Good levels of computer literacy skills, particularly in Excel are essential.
The Assistant Financial Accountant will be working within the finance team assisting with year-end statutory accounts, financial reporting, managing purchase and sales ledgers, assisting with working capital management and completing VAT returns.
The salary for this role will be between £20,000 and £22,000 with study support possible for the right candidate.
